Once again, we take part in this global initiative dedicated to improving nutrition care across healthcare settings worldwide.

A huge thank you to all the hospitals, nutrition support teams, nutritionist-dietitians, doctors, and nurses who participated this year. Your commitment to better patient nutrition and advocacy for proper nutrition care continues to push our country forward.

This year is also extra special since for the first time, one of our participating institutions joined from the primary care setting.

About Us

Vision

The premiere society of clinical nutrition practice and education in the Philippines that is recognized globally.

Mission

To improve the standard of patient care through clinical nutrition practice;

To promote professional enhancement and create opportunities in the field of clinical nutrition through education (annual convention, regional congress, workshops, seminars, conferences, post graduate courses), researches, publications, collaborations with different organizations and industries, and establishment /accreditation/ certification of multidisciplinary health care specialists and institutions ultimately providing optimum nutrition care to patients.

History

The Philippine Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (PhilSPEN) was organized with the main goal of improving patient care through correct and appropriate implementation of nutritional management to in-patient, out-patient, or intermediate-care patients by using a multidisciplinary approach to nutrition management, which includes the correct and appropriate use of enteral and parenteral nutrition.

PhilSPEN hopes to promote the progress of clinical nutrition research and practice in the Philippines and, with the future collaboration with the Asia Pacific and international community of clinical nutrition societies, promote “best practice in nutrition management” in both hospital and out-patient setting.

PhilSPEN is a fast-growing multidisciplinary organization, with members who are all advocates and hungry for knowledge in the field of clinical nutrition.

Renewal of membership shall be done yearly every December to January, or during annual conventions, via bank deposit or direct payment through our Secretariat, but online payments may come soon! We’ll keep you posted!
